Cookie Policy

Effective: 22 April 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Outro ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) on outro.so. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. You can review and change your choices at any time from the "Cookie Settings" link in our footer.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to remember information about your visit. We also use similar technologies like localStorage for features that require client-side storage (e.g. your theme preference or cookie consent choice).

3. Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary (always on)

Required for the Service to work. These cannot be turned off.

  • sb-*-auth-token - Supabase authentication session (HTTP-only, secure)
  • outro-cookie-consent (localStorage) - remembers your cookie preferences
  • outro-theme (localStorage) - remembers your light/dark theme preference
  • Session identifiers used during Lemon Squeezy checkout

Analytics (opt-in)

Used to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Anonymised where possible.

Current status: At the date of this policy, no third-party analytics cookies are active. If we add them, they will only be set after you opt in from Cookie Settings.

Marketing (opt-in)

Used to measure marketing performance or show relevant content on other sites.

Current status: At the date of this policy, no third-party marketing or advertising cookies are active. Your preference is stored so it will be respected if such services are added later.

4. Third-Party Services That May Set Cookies

  • Supabase - sets authentication cookies so you stay signed in.
  • Lemon Squeezy - during checkout and when managing your subscription, Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) sets cookies on its own domain. These are governed by the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare - may set a short-lived __cf_bm cookie for bot management and DDoS protection on our domains.

5. Managing Your Preferences

  • Cookie Settings - click "Cookie Settings" in the footer to accept, reject, or customise non-essential cookies at any time.
  • Browser controls - most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
  • Do Not Track - we honour your explicit choice in Cookie Settings; browser-level Do Not Track signals are not yet a uniform standard, so we treat them as informational.

6. Retention

  • Session cookies - removed when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies - kept for the duration stated above or up to 12 months, whichever is shorter, unless refreshed by further visits.
  • localStorage items - kept until you clear your browser data or change the setting.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we change our use of cookies, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the change requires your consent (for example, adding a new analytics provider), we will ask you to re-confirm your preferences before any non-essential cookies are set.
